Performance collective PML
The Performance Collective PML consists of six artists aged 50+. All of them started out from an artistic practice that they developed into an interdisciplinary performance from the very beginning. All of them have become outstanding soloists and lead bands, ensembles and project groups or are long-standing members of influential performance formations. PML’s performative spectrum consists of music, dance and visual arts. PML works site-specifically in architecture and landscape and, in principle, artistically sustainably with materials found on site. In five years of collaboration, the collective has developed its form of expression, which consists of permanent transformation. The boundaries between sound, voice, movement, object and space are dissolved.

PML was founded in March 2020 for the first coronavirus lockdown. In order to overcome the forced isolation, the members met weekly in public parks in NRW and began performing together for travelling audiences. In 2021, they moved into a studio situation with two pianos in Cologne and have been practising synergy and crossing boundaries of artistic means on the basis of intuitive communication in their weekly meetings ever since.
PML has performed in special locations and at exhibitions by visual artists with whose works and exhibition spaces PML entered into a specific connection.
